This book changed my life

When I read these reviews while thinking if I should read, I thought they were a joke or paid reviews. When I tell you this book changed my life, I wish I was kidding. Prior to reading, my emetophobia was so bad that I was skipping class, going out to dinner, hanging out with friends, EVERYTHING. I avoided literally everything, in fear of vomitting. I read this within two days (taking many many screenshots which are saved on my phone in times of need) and if I ever feel the slightest bit anxious, I pull out and read a few passages I like. It seriously SERIOUSLY has changed my life, and I was not expecting the outcome that I had. Since finishing the book and learning to change my mindset, I haven't once taken my Xanax. I NEVER in a million years thought I could get this much improvement without seeking very extensive therapy that would have cost me a fortune. A book, a simple book helped me get better. I can sit in a resturaunt and eat a meal without rushing out, I can sit in class without having to step out of the room, I can go in cars without the fear of getting sick. Although I still have occasions where I panic, it is not NEARLY as bad as it was the past few months. My biggest accomplishment was enjoying a meal at a resturaunt, without being afraid. I finally can order something I WANT off the menu, not just something I know will not make me sick. I will never forget that day. This book has meant everything to me, my emetophobia was really taking a toll on my life. I no longer take the extreme measures as I did before (such as taking Xanax, sucking on 'anti-nausea lollipops' or even taking motion sickness medicine, when I don't even get motion sickness. Thank you thank you THANK YOU for curing me. My life has made a complete 180. I am so grateful.

The Testimonials are True! And there are HAPPY unintended consequences too

Like the reviewer Jay, I thought that the testimonials were too good to be true. But after 50 years with this fear, I decided to give the program a try after my sister - a psychologist in the UK - recommended it.
The first thing I noticed is that it is practical and puts the control in our hands. It is not a magic bullet, it is not "five ways to thrive before Thursday". It is hard work and makes no bones about it. The content is straight forward and is delivered with humor which makes it easier to tackle. But all the material is research and evidence based and really gets to the root of changing mindsets and thinking and giving those that want to thrive the tools to make it happen!

The second thing I noticed was unintended GOOD consequences. As a side effect of the program, I lost my fear of the dentist. It has been a significant fear since I was a small child, but I have been able to avoid it for most of my life because I just avoided going to see the dentist. Easy as that! (Luckily I have good teeth.) Then a few weeks after I started the Thrive Programme, I had to have a root canal. Noone wants a root canal. I was unmoved, unmedicated, unstressed. I was happy when I arrived at the office, friendly to the staff and even found myself humming to the music on the radio (which made the dentist and dental technician laugh). I would arrive and answer the inevitable question "how are you?" with a bright and breezy "Well, I am at the dentist! My favorite thing! So I am great!"
I think the staff thought I was nuts, but it was almost true - well OK, not my favorite thing, but the point is that suddenly it did not seem like a big deal and was certainly not worthy of medicating and wasting someone else's time to drive me there! I am so over my dentist phobia that I cannot even remember what it felt like to have it!

This was an encouraging side-effect of following the program. It was encouraging! I stuck with it and can honestly say that the program is remarkable. Since completing the program, I have done so many things that I would never have believed that I would do! The testimonials are true. I was so impressed that I trained as a consultant with the Thrive Programme.
